Job Overview:

• Shifts Available: Monday–Friday, School Hours
• Schedule: No weekends or major holidays! Enjoy a great work-life balance.
• Pay Rate: $40-47/hr
• Assignment Type: Temporary – 13-week assignment

This role is a 1:1 nursing position, providing personalized care for a student with specific medical needs in a school setting. You'll play a critical role in supporting the student's health, safety, and educational experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide care and support for a student with specific medical needs, including:
  • Assisting with ventilator and trach care, monitoring readings, and recording in designated charts.
  • Administering medications and g-tube feedings as prescribed.
  • Suctioning and other respiratory care as needed, guided by student signals.
• Collaborate with therapists (PT and speech) and school staff to support IEP requirements and student development.
• Maintain detailed documentation in SpedAdvantage and other required systems.
• Respond to emergencies promptly and effectively, ensuring student safety and comfort.
• Communicate with parents and caregivers for smooth transitions before and after school.

Qualifications:

• Valid RN license in the state of practice or compact license.
• Trach experience or ventilator experience is required.
• Experience in pediatric or school nursing is a plus but not required.

Experience:

• 1 year of nursing experience preferred. New RNs are welcome!

License/Certification:

• CPR/BLS Certification (required)
• RN License in state of practice or compact license (required)

Travel Requirements:

• Willingness to travel locally for school and therapy settings.

Work Setting:

• Primarily within the school environment, collaborating with therapists and supporting a student’s daily needs.
