General job duties. Types of procedures required.
Perform the role of an RN. Care for a patient assignment which includes assessments, medication administration, helping individualize patients plan of care, work in an interdisciplinary setting.
Equipment utilized in the unit/dept.
Computerized Charting (EPIC), Accudose, basic drips such as Cardizem, Cardene, Amiodarone, and Bipaps in intermediate units. In pulmonary acute they would also care for trach patients w/ ventilators;
Required skills and minimum years of experience.
Ventilator experience for pulmonary acute only. Telemetry, Bipap, and step down unit experience preferred.
Specific licensures and certifications/registrations required.
BLS, ACLS required, SD state RN license
Shift or schedule requirements.
12 hour shifts, weekend and holiday requirements. No call required.
Floating to over units/departments.
Floating to other med/surg units
Bed size/number of rooms for this unit/dept.
Pulmonary Acute 8 and Neuro Acute 8; Pulmonary 42, Cardiovascular Surgical 44, Cardiology 41
Nurse to patient ratio of this unit.
3 to 4 patient ratio intermediate; 5-6 patient ratio med/surg telemetry. Ratios based on acuity
